The Noticeable Colorado Belle Resort

The Colorado Belle Hotel and Casino is moored on the banks of the Colorado River in Laughlin, Nevada, United States. Colorado Belle is a 600-foot long building that is made to resemble a Mississippi paddlewheel riverboat. The building comprises two seven storey towers that together house 1168 hotel rooms. The resort deck is home to a vast and busy casino that covers a 6000 square metres area. In this space there are crammed nearly 1300 slot machines, an authentic smoky poker room and a keno lounge. The B deck of the building has a comprehensive sports book facility with all the latest technological accoutrements. The Colorado Belle resort also has, in terms of guest entertainment, a recognised micro-brewery and sports bar, three other popular restaurants, a couple of swimming pools, free live entertainment going on all the while, a fully-equipped fitness room, two gift shops, an outdoor spa and a private beach section along the Colorado River.

The Colorado Belle Casino

The main casino at Colorado Belle is a large 6000 square metres, or 65 000 square feet of classic casino play. A low limit and high volume casino, with all the expected wagering options. First up is the slot floor, with slot machines from some of the top in land-based game developers such as IGT, Williams and Aristocrat in endless rows. The table games on offer include several varieties of Blackjack and Roulette, with numerous Craps, Let it Ride, and Three Card, as well as Pai Gow Poker tables. As would be expected of any classic style casino there are also several video poker games, video keno and multi-game machines. Colorado Belle casino gives players loyalty bonuses in terms of points awarded while they play, with comps and benefits available too.

The Design Pedigree

The design of the building as a Mississippi paddlewheel riverboat certainly has the effect of intriguing and inviting patrons. Despite the negative connotations in Mississippi regarding dingy riverboat casinos, this theme has attracted new players for thirty years. The last major development of the resort was undertaken by the then owners, Circus Circus Enterprises and it opened as such in 1987. Circus Circus Enterprises evolved into the Mandalay Resort Group in 1999, and six years later sold the company to MGM Mirage. The current owners, M Resorts and Sher Gaming partnership, were granted their licence to operate a casino in 2007 by the Nevada Gaming Commission, and began operations in the same year.

The Theme and Location

The Riverboat theme runs throughout the Colorado Belle hotel and casino, with a rich red and gold colour scheme. Plush carpets and paintings of the Mississippi River add to the effect, as does the lighting and casino noises. The hotel rooms are known for their economically minded price range, and the clientele is perhaps less serious about the gambling than the range of amenities and facilities available.

The Colorado Belle hotel and casino resort is conveniently located in Laughlin on the banks of the Colorado River. This is an area close to Las Vegas, Arizona and the rest of Nevada. Serviced by an international airport and within walking distance of the Laughlin Event Center and Outlet Center. Alongside all these attractions are the excellent golf courses, tennis courts and fitness centres.
